Bathrooms

I really appreciate the person who first decided to display gender-specific signs at the entry to bathrooms. Whoever that was saved me from a dire mistake today.

Choosing a bathroom was not intended to be a fear-based ordeal. All I have to do is go in the bathroom the guys go into and avoid the one the girls go into. I used to be able to pretty confidently assess the gender of an individual by the clothes they were wearing and their demeanor. Now, I just look at the sign.

Today, I tried to us the person-identification technique. The person-identification technique failed. But the sign, praise be, saved me.

My message for you, The sign technique works, because people nowadays are like...whatever.
